Costs and Effects

       Addiction is generally harmful, damaging a person's relationships, work, education and health. Addiction to the Internet can do the same sort of damage, leading you to neglect family, friends and obligations such as work and school. However, the Internet has many benefits and has become a part of everyday life, used for news, information, research and communication.
       
       Internet addiction is defined as a psychological dependence on the Internet, leading to pathological use, or Internet addiction, for some students and employees. Since the Internet has every single information we are seeking for, people have been depending on it in every single matter in their life, wheatear it’s for work, schoolwork, gathering information, entertainment. The use of the Internet on university campuses and work places has shown explosive growth in the last few years. 
     
       Internet has become so popular that got so many people addicted to it, thus generated many disadvantages for its addicted users; such as:
  •  A person addicted to the internet will spend most of his time alone.
  •  Unpleasant feelings (e.g., anxiety, anger, depression and emptiness) when offline.
  •  An increasing tolerance to the effects of being online.
  •  Some health issues, such as bad eyesight.
  •  Internet addicts risk losing their jobs or failing classes.
